Bound of Union Escher wallcovering, or as we would say in the Netherlands 'the Escher Wallpaper Band', is a relatively personal design by Escher. By means of two spirals Escher namely portrays himself and his wife. Such a sentimental performance does not occur in his other oeuvre.
In a slightly ironic way he said about the print: 'I do not know if this couple is so happy to be immovable and connected to each other. It is a perilous undertaking and they look a bit sip; they never come more apart. ' Is that equally profound!
